Then spray a silicone lubricant directly into a cloth to avoid overspray and wipe down the track and the parts. It is a simple step but can go a long way in ensuring the smooth operation of windows for years to come.

5. Never Use Harsh Chemicals, Abrasives, or Power Washers

Now a word of caution. There is no reason to ever use harsh chemicals, abrasives, or power washers on replacement windows. These are some of the leading causes of premature window failure because they can strip finishes, scratch coatings, and break the seals on your new windows.
